Boerewors is one of the most common meats among Zimbabweans. Popular for breakfast, lunch, supper and also at braais (barbeques). Because of how’s it’s so versatile you can play around with it and enjoy its goodness in many different ways. This dish here is pretty simple, as the name says, and is a quick meal. You’ll be serving in 20 minutes. I call it rustic because you don’t have to be so neat in cutting your onions and peppers!

Quick Instructions
- The ingredients needed are 500g Boerewors sausage; 1/2 medium onion; 1/4 large red pepper; 1/4 large green/yellow peppers; 1 tbsp fresh basil and 2 tsp fresh parsley. Chop your onions, peppers and herbs roughly.
- Put your sausage in the pan. Depending on what type you’re using you won’t need to add any oil as it will contain some already. As the sausage is cooking, the juices and oil will naturally flow out.
- Fry until sausage is browned. If the juices that flow out are too much you may drain and leave just what you need to continue cooking. Add the onions.
