Simple Frozen Chicken Stew

On occasion you find that you really want to cook chicken but its frozen, what do you do? This scrumptious recipe makes it possible to still go ahead with your chicken dish even if the meat is frozen. It is my go to recipe in such situations.

Get This

  • 1 kg frozen mixed chicken portions

  • 2 tbsp oil

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1 1/2 tsp Zimspice paprika

  • 1 medium onion, chopped

  • 1/2 medium green pepper, chopped

  • 3 large tomatoes, grated

  • 3 tbsp Mr Sauce BBQ sauce

  • Enough water to cover the chicken

Do This

  • Get your ingredients together. Put oil into a pot and add the frozen chicken pieces.
  • Add salt and paprika. Fry on medium-high heat until the chicken begins to brown.
  • Add the onion and green pepper. Fry for another 3 minutes.
  • Add the tomatoes and BBQ sauce. Mix and allow to cook for a further 3-4 minutes.
  • Add the water, mix, and close the pot. Bring to a boil then reduce heat to a gentle simmer. Simmer until the liquid is greatly reduced and the stew thickens. Taste for seasoning and adjust accordingly. Enjoy!
