Scrumptious Chicken Gizzards
Here we have one of Zim’s favourite – Gizzards- , fried, and then added to some fresh vegetables to compliment them. Serve this with Sadza, rice or potatoes even, together with some soup/gravy and more vegetables.

500g chicken gizzards
1 tsp salt
3 tbsp oil
1 tbsp tomato paste
50ml Mr Sauce Worcester sauce
150 ml water
1/2 medium onion, sliced
3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
1 medium green pepper, chopped
4 carrots, chopped
Do This
- Get your ingredients together. Heat oil in pan. Add the gizzards, and season with salt. Fry until beginning to brown, add tomato paste.
- Allow to cook for about 3 mins, whilst stirring regularly.
- Add the Worcester sauce and allow to cook for another 3 minutes.
- Add the onion, and cook for 2 minutes. Add water, close pan and let this simmer gently until the gizzards are tender.
- Add the carrots and let them cook for about 1 min before adding the green pepper.
- Add a little bit of water and allow to cook for about 3 minutes, stirring regularly. Taste for seasoning and adjust accordingly. Enjoy!
