  • 3/4 cup boiling water

  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped

  • 1 medium green pepper, grated

  • 3 tsp curry powder

  • 2 tsp salt

  • 2 tsp turmeric

  • 2 tsp paprika

  • 3 tsp garlic, grated

  • 1 egg

  • 4 slices of bread, broken into small pieces

  • Oil for frying

Do This

  •  Get your ingredients together. Put the soya mince into a bowl. Add the boiling water and gently stir, ensuring the soya is rehydrated by the water.
  • Add the rest of the ingredients excluding the oil.
  • Give a good mix until everything is evenly incorporated and mixed. You should now be having a mixture that can be easily shaped into a meatball without falling apart.
  • Scoop a tablespoonful of the mixture into your hands and roll to shape a mince ball. Place it on a platter or wide plate and repeat process until the soya mince mixture is finished.
  • Heat oil in pan and fry in batches until browned and cooked through. Enjoy!

Recipe Notes

  • If for one reason or the other you seem to struggle with your soya mince mixture forming a mince ball properly, you may add more pieces of bread and add to the mixture and mix. Repeat if necessary until the mixture can form into a mince ball.
  • Also, a teaspoon of powdered garlic may be used in place of the fresh.  You may also alternatively bake the soya mince balls if you prefer. Simply place on a baking tray, drizzle some oil onto each one and bake for about 10 – 15 min.
