Just plain roast Potatoes

5-6 Servings ~ 60 minutes
  • 2.5 kg potatoes
  • 5 tbsp pure vegetable oil/ olive oil
  • 2 tsp salt

Roast potatoes work great, especially for that day when you are feeling too tired or lazy to be on your feet cooking. You just chuck them into the oven, put your feet up and check on them from time to time. These will go well with grilled chicken (going with the “lazy”/ tired theme) or even pan-fried honey soy steak if you have the energy to be whipping up a good meal. A white sauce drizzle would also be in order. These are plain roast potatoes, which are still good. If you want to add a little flavour you could also try these garlic and herb roast potatoes.

Quick Instructions

  1. Peel your potatoes (2.5kg) and put them in a bowl of water. Cut each potato into quarters, drain the water then pat dry the potatoes. Put them back into a bowl and drizzle some pure vegetable oil/ olive oil (5 tbsp) on them then season with salt (2 tsp). Place in oven tray and grill at 180 degrees Celsius/ 250 degrees Fahrenheit/ Gas Mark 5  for one hour or until golden brown and crispy.
