Cooking pasta is pretty much the same, well, more or less. It’s important not to overcook it as it may become mashy and sticks together which will not really be pleasant. You want to have your pasta firm but cooked. Here’s a general way of preparing your plain penne pasta. Serve it with your preferred protein and vegetables which may be mince, beef stroganoff, sugar beans or steamed vegetables. Furthermore, may also be interested in pasta recipes with shrimp.
Do this
- Put boiling water in a pot. Add salt and 2 tbsp of oil, close pot and bring this water to the boil once again.
- When water is boiling, add your penne pasta and allow to cook for about 8-10 minutes or until tender, stirring at regular interval.
- Once pasta is tender, drain the water using a colander or partly close the pot and drain the water out.
- Rinse the pasta with cold water to prevent the pasta from cooking further as well as removing excess starch.
- If you had used a colander to drain and rinse the pasta, return pasta to pot, add 2 tbsp oil and stir. This is so the pasta does not stick together. Your penne pasta is ready.
