Grilled Honey and Lemon Crocodile Meat

Grilled lime and honey Crocodile meat

3-4 Servings ~ 45 minutes
  • 500g crocodile meat
  • Juice from half a lime/lemon
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 4 tsp pure honey

Crocodile meat can a bit tricky to prepare. It’s a meat with a delicate flavour and doesn’t need strong marinades. Here I used just lime juice and honey and left it for over 6 hours for the marinade to sip into the meat. It was delicious and the family enjoyed.

Instructions

  1. Season your crocodile meat (500g) with salt (1 tsp) and pour the lime juice (from half a lime/lemon) and honey (4 tsp) over it. Massage this into the meat. Refrigerate for a minimum of 6 hours to allow the flavours to fuse and sip into the meat.
  2. After your marinating time, put the meat in your roasting tray and grill the meat at 160 degrees Celsius for 45 minutes.

It’s important that you serve the meat straight from the oven whilst it’s still hot. It tastes better that way :). Go ahead and give it a go and let me know how you found it. You can serve this with anything really from rice, potatoes, pasta or even sadza (pap). Miss non of my recipes by signing-up here for our weekday newsletter with new recipes and tips. Join here.
