- 100g margarine
- 100g sugar
- 200g self-raising flour
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 cup granulated coffee
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 60 ml fresh milk, warmed up
- 1 tsp vanilla essence
This simple cake loaf will especially hit the spot for the coffee lovers. Or if you’re not really a fan of coffee and are worried about caffeine, well don’t worry, use decaf 🙂 . You can have this with a cuppa, warm milk or as a dessert with some custard or maybe ice-cream.
Quick Instructions
- Get your ingredients together. These include;Â 100g margarine
100g sugar
200g self-raising flour
2 eggs
1/4 cup granulated coffee

60 ml fresh milk, warmed up
1 tsp vanilla essence - Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius/ 350 degrees Fahrenheit/ Gas Mark 4. Line your loaf tin with grease proof paper and grease it then set aside.
- Put margarine and sugar in mixing bowl. Beat until light and fluffy. Add eggs (2 eggs), coffee and vanilla essence (1 tsp). Beat until everything is well combined.
- Add sifted flour, 1 tsp baking powder and mix. Add warmed up milk (60ml) and mix again until all the ingredients are combined well. Take set aside greased loaf tin and pour the batter into it. Bake for 40 minutes or until skewer comes out clean. And you’re done, enjoy!!
